Custo Barcelona: “Instaglam” and the New Language of Self-Expression

At 080 Barcelona Fashion, Custo Dalmau reimagines individuality with color, volume, and unapologetic flair — and marks 45 years of creativity with a celebration that bridges fashion, art, and life.

A Finale That Spoke in Color and Confidence

The final day of 080 Barcelona Fashion closed not with whispers, but with a visual crescendo. Custo Barcelona unveiled “Instaglam,” a collection that felt less like clothing and more like a declaration — a vivid tribute to self-expression, authenticity, and individuality.

Under the creative direction of Custo Dalmau, the runway became a kaleidoscope of form and freedom. The show’s message was clear: in an era of digital perfection and fleeting trends, true style lies in authenticity.

The Spirit of “Instaglam”

Faithful to his creative DNA, Dalmau delivered what only Custo Barcelona can — an aesthetic that balances structure and spontaneity, rebellion and refinement. The “Instaglam” collection pushed boundaries with geometric silhouettes, daring proportions, and unexpected fusions of texture and material.

Each look felt like a conversation between craftsmanship and imagination — a seamless dialogue between innovation, color, and artistry.

Instaglam is not about following rules,” one could imagine Dalmau saying, “it’s about redefining them.

Fabrics as Canvases, Fashion as Freedom

The collection unfolded as a celebration of stylistic freedom. Fabrics became mediums of expression — canvases where the tactile met the emotional. Every piece was executed with meticulous craftsmanship, from high-end textiles to delicate hand-finishes that bore the unmistakable Custo Barcelona savoir-faire.

The color palette danced between restraint and exuberance — white, pink, turquoise, aqua green, fuchsia, and black. Each tone played its role in crafting a mood that was at once sophisticated and daring, enriched by hand-applied ribbons, trimmings, and intricate artisanal details.

The result was a world that felt alive — experimental yet elegant, daring yet precise.

Volume, Attitude, and the Return of the Dress

On the runway, the dress reigned supreme. Voluminous forms and assertive shapes made a powerful statement: attitude is the new elegance.

From guipure and lace dresses in geometric patchwork to hand-sewn couture finishes, every look fused contemporary confidence with the finesse of high fashion.

The craftsmanship was palpable — textured jacquards, devoré velvets with metallic threads, and lace fabrics elevated each piece, blurring the line between sport-luxe and eveningwear.

What emerged was not just a wardrobe, but a wearable manifesto on modern femininity and creative defiance.

The Urban Muse and Her New Armor

If the dresses embodied volume and grace, the outerwear brought edge and power. Oversized jackets were reimagined as microdresses, featuring macro-graphics and bold motifs that added urban energy to the show’s couture narrative.

These reinterpretations spoke directly to a new kind of muse — confident, cosmopolitan, and unapologetically herself.

For Custo, fashion has always been about more than decoration; it’s about identity. “Instaglam” simply made that truth radiant.

Fashion as Identity, Style as Self-Love

With “Instaglam,” Custo Barcelona reaffirmed its unique vision — that fashion is not about conformity, but self-definition. It is a celebration of authenticity, individuality, and creative courage.

This was not nostalgia nor futurism, but something far rarer: a reflection of the present — of the person who dares to be seen exactly as they are.

Custo’s latest work stands as a reminder that in a world obsessed with imitation, individuality remains the truest form of luxury.

Celebrating 45 Years of Creative Brilliance

Following the success of Instaglam and his Spring–Summer 2026 show, Custo Dalmau marked a new milestone: 45 years of Custo Barcelona — a celebration of creativity, innovation, and enduring vision.

The Catalan designer gathered a select circle of friends, artists, and industry icons at Maymantra Barcelona, one of the city’s trendiest restaurants, for an intimate celebration that intertwined fashion, gastronomy, and joy.

The menu, curated by chef Omar Malpartida, paid homage to the colors, textures, and vibrant energy of the Custo Barcelona universe.

Among the guests were Argentine producer Nicolás Freijo, Spanish actress Silvia Kal, model Valentina Moyarca, influencer Carla Asensi Richart, Lucas Cañizares’ partner, and former model Nadina Faraon. Joining them was the director of Maybelline NY, who added a touch of glamour with exclusive gifts from the brand.

In his hometown, surrounded by familiar faces, Dalmau reflected on his journey:

“I’m very happy to be able to gather my friends here, in the place where it all began. Forty-five years have passed, and we continue to hold our own name in the world — with the same passion and energy as the very first day.”

The evening also featured the announcement of the relaunch of Custo’s iconic T-shirts — pieces once worn by global celebrities and now symbols of Spanish avant-garde fashion.

Faithful to his restless, creative spirit, Custo Barcelona remains a brand that doesn’t just design clothes — it creates experiences, connects communities, and celebrates artistry.

With editorial campaigns and global presentations across major fashion capitals, Custo continues to embody the essence that defines him: the Spanish voice that inspires, surprises, and celebrates creativity — for 45 years and counting.

The Final Word: A Modern Spanish Pulse

Closing 080 Barcelona Fashion with vibrancy and conviction, “Instaglam” captured the essence of the city itself — artistic, daring, and endlessly alive.

With bold color, geometric confidence, and effortless attitude, Custo Barcelona once again proves that style is more than a look — it’s a language.

And this season, that language speaks in color, courage, and creative freedom.
